Kidnapping in Sriya

Richard Engel and the members of his news crew were abducted and held hostage by an unknown group in Syria from December 13, 2012, to December 17, 2012.

Though they were psychologically tortured and their lives hovered, they made it through the fire physically unharmed. Engel and his crew were suitable to escape when an attack was replaced between their convicts and a Syrian revolutionary group.

Engel reported his experience in a Vanity Fair tract, named” The Hostage” in April 2013. Engel’s account was still challenged from beforehand on, with Jamie Dettmer of The Daily Beast citing unnamed sources, who believed Engel and his platoon had been abducted by guileful revolutionary groups opposed to Assad.
